Lola from 2nd Hedworth Brownies decided to write to the Prime Minister after seeing on the news about knife crime, and that people hurt each other, and teenagers were dying because of it. It made her feel quite sad to find this out and she wanted to think of a way to help.

She thought of writing a letter to the then Prime Minister, Theresa May herself. She asked her Mum if Mrs May knew about knife crime and when her Mum said she did, Lola said she was going to write to her as she thought the Prime Minister could stop it.

In her letter she said she’d just learned that people were dying and as PM could Theresa May stop this happening so people won’t die. She asked if it could be made harder to buy knives as she thought that would help.

Lola received a lovely reply from the Prime Minister’s Office. See photo.
I think this shows such maturity from a Brownie who wants to speak out. I hope you agree.
